I need help with Concord FaxAssist, what do I need when I contact you?

When contacting Support with any problems with FaxAssist you should include the FaxAssist.log and FaxAssist-Errors.log from the logs folder for the application in the support request. The default location is C:\Program Files (x86)\Concord Technologies\Concord FaxAssist\logs.

How can I have FaxAssist start automatically when my computer boots?

Click Start > right-click Computer > then choose Manage. Click Services and Applications > Services. Locate the Concord FaxAssist service in the list, then right-click and choose Properties.

On the General tab, locate Startup type and set the dropdown to Automatic instead of Manual, then click Apply then OK.

My faxes aren't saving to my mapped drive, why?

If you are saving to a Network Storage location you’ll need to use the full UNC path (e.g. \\server\<user>\Faxes\FaxAssist) and will need to configure the FaxAssist service with a set of domain credentials that have permissions to write to the directory.

My logs indicate an error when saving faxes to a network storage location, how can I fix this?

By default the Concord FaxAssist service runs as a Local System Account. We will want to change the credentials the service uses.

You will want to locate the Windows domain & user credentials that you use to login to the server. Generally these will be the same as your roaming profile. DO NOT enter this information if you’re storing to a Local storage location. If you do not have your Network credentials, please contact your IT personnel or system administrator.

Click Start > right-click Computer > then choose Manage. Click Services and Applications > Services. Locate the Concord FaxAssist service in the list, then right-click and choose Properties.

Next click the Log On tab in the FaxAssist service, and then click This Account and enter the appropriate network credentials. Click Apply then OK.

To test this configuration you’ll need to send a test fax to the number that is configured to your Concord user account – the Validate Output button is NOT sufficient to confirm this is working. If you do not receive the test fax in the Output folder after a few minutes please contact Premium Support.

Can I print any document type from FaxAssist?

If you are setting up a Printer as the destination, the User Account in the Portal has to be configured to deliver .TIF files, other file types will not work at this time.
