Before you start developing applications using the Concord Outbound Fax Delivery - Smtp Interface you will need the following:

Concord Account

An account from Concord is required to use the Outbound Fax Delivery - Smtp Interface. Once an account has been established you must add the email address that smtp submissions will be received by Concord from to your account.

Security Note

Concord recommends that you use TLS to secure the transmission of your email messages to the Concord Outbound Fax Delivery platform.

Internet Access

Smtp Interface supports Smtp and Secure Smtp via TLS. The default domain to send faxes to is @concordsend.com

Development Tools

  • Email Client Software

    Any standard email client that supports sending emails via SMTP (Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, Lotus Notes etc..) can be used to send faxes to Concord's Outbound Fax Delivery - Smtp Interface.

  • Development Environment

    Any development environment that supports creating a mime email message and supports the SMTP protocol can be used to create and send fax messages to Concord's Outbound Fax Delivery - Smtp Interface.

Description

To Name

Will contain the recipients real name, which will appear possibly in the fax header lines and/or cover pages. Maximum 64 characters

The 'To Name' and 'To Address' appear usually as one line in emails, such as 'To: "ToName" <To Address>

To Address

Will contain the fax number the message should be faxed to in the form of an email address. Ex: 12065551212@concordsend.com

From Address

Email address that belongs to the sender. This email address must be associated with a Concord Account to be authorized to send faxes. Ex: jdoe@domain.com

Subject Line

Optional - Can be useful to set to help troubleshoot bounced emails. Subject line tokens are also supported to provide additional features. What ever characters are left after tokens are removed is available to place on cover pages.

Email Body

Optional - Email body contents can be used to populate a cover page with content. If cover pages are not used then the email body is ignored.

Email Attachments

Documents to be faxed must be added to the email. See supported document types.
